Orthopaedic consultation

What to do when coming in for an orthopaedic consultation

  • Before coming in, think about your complaints, how long you have been in pain, what the connection between your pain and different physical activities might be, whether you received any treatment before and how it helped and whether you are getting treatment from another doctor.
  • If you have had consultations or tests regarding the same complaints before, please bring the results with you. If the area of concern has been x-rayed in the past year, please bring the x-ray, if possible.
  • Wear comfortable clothes.
  • Inform your doctor of illnesses related to your complaints, especially skeletal and muscle problems, of medications you take regularly and of any allergies.
